We love this recipe from our friend Chef Scott Peacock! It's an excellent way to prepare okra when you want something a little bit different. We hope you enjoy this recipe and video from back when we first started sharing videos on YouTube.

Getting ready to make this. The ingredients call for 1 1/2 t of salt but the instructions call for: ""mix cornmeal, flour 1 1/2 t salt and the baking powder" then later to "season with remaining 1 t salt & the pepper". that equals 2 1/2 t total! I don't want to ruin my batch with too much salt. HELP soon, please!
Oh My Goodness !! I am a southern gal raised loving & eating fried Okra all season long. Moved up north 25+ years ago and people in the midwest aren't Okra growers or eaters !! Saw your recipe and my brain was going Okra crazy. Lo & behold Wally world had a fresh shipment so I grabbed me a pound and hurried home to make me some Okra Fritters...... OMG , I never heard of them so I was so excited as I mixed the batter and heated my oil (I might have been drowling at this point). I am hooked !!! I can't thank you enough for sharing this recipe...... I LOVE OKRA !!!
I did forget to mention though, the half cup of water is missing from the ingredients list. It is mentioned in the body of the recipe but it is not in the list.
Oh my goodness! Thank you for posting this okra pancake recipe! I just made them. Like fried okra on steroids! My new favorite! ❤
